Coolant temperature sensor — check

The coolant temperature sensor is mounted on the thermostat housing. The sensor resistance decreases as the coolant temperature rises. If the sensor fails, the engine does not start well and runs unevenly during warm-up.

Check supply voltage. To do this, disconnect the 2-pin connector. Ring terminal 1 against ground with an ohmmeter. Connect a voltmeter to pin 2 and ground and turn on the ignition. Required value: 4.5-4.9 V.

Check sensor resistance. To do this, connect an ohmmeter to both pins of the sensor connector.

Required value:

• at 20°С — 2.45±0.24 kOhm
• at 80°С - 296±32 Ohm.
