Air pressure sensor — check
The air pressure sensor is located on the air mass meter. When engine performance deteriorates at high altitudes (starting at about 1000 m above sea level) it is safe to conclude that the sensor is defective. If the air filter is clogged, then when driving at high speeds, the sensor may transmit distorted information to the control unit.
