Fuel supply

Fuel system includes fuel tank, fuel lines, high pressure fuel pump (injection pump) with injectors, as well as a fuel filter. The fuel reserve is indicated on the fuel gauge on the dashboard. The fuel tank is ventilated by a ventilation system. When the fuel tank is completely empty, it is necessary to remove air from the fuel filter, see point 32.1.

Attention: In order to check whether fuel is supplied to the injectors in case of difficulty starting the engine, loosen the union nuts on two injectors and start the engine without preheating until fuel comes out at the union nuts. Tighten the union nuts and start the engine normally.

Attention: If there is no fuel supply, air must be bled from the system.

Fill injection pump with diesel fuel.

Fill the fuel filter with diesel fuel.

Tow a car.

These measures ensure the rapid removal of air.

Maintain cleanliness when working on the injection system see section 6.2.

In addition, make sure that diesel fuel does not get on the coolant hoses. Otherwise, the hoses must be cleaned immediately. Damaged hoses must be replaced.
