Antifreeze — general information

The cooling system is filled at the factory with a mixture of water, antifreeze and anti-corrosion agent Antifreeze concentrate prevents damage to the cooling system from frost and corrosion and at the same time raises the boiling point of the coolant. Therefore, the cooling system must always be filled with antifreeze and anti-corrosion agent throughout the year

Caution: Use only original MITSUBISHI coolants or proprietary ethylene glycol based anti-corrosion agents. Applied coolant concentrate (OK) should be suitable for aluminum parts. Do not use alcohol-based antifreeze.

Due to the fact that the anti-corrosion additive in the coolant loses its properties over time, the fluid should be changed as part of the service, see section "Service". The coolant must also be changed when aluminum parts of the cooling system, such as the cylinder head, are replaced.

To obtain the correct concentration, the manufacturer's instructions must be observed. In the German latitudes, frost resistance down to at least -30°C must be ensured.

Caution: It is recommended to dilute the cooling concentrate with distilled or mineral-free (soft) water.

Attention: If the proportion of coolant concentrate exceeds 60%, both the frost resistance properties and the engine cooling properties are reduced.
