Carburetor adjustment

Each carburetor is factory tested and adjusted. This setting should not be changed. Increased fuel consumption and a decrease in engine power most often have other causes, with the driving style and operating conditions playing a particularly important role. Therefore, you should usually limit yourself to careful adjustment of idle speed and CO content. Proper idle speed adjustment is essential for engine responsiveness and proper mid-range operation.

If the carburetor has a seal on the set screw, it can be removed with pliers or a screwdriver. Sometimes it is advisable to screw a self-tapping screw into the seal and pull out the screw together with the seal with pliers. In this case, the seal is destroyed. After adjustment, close the set screw with a new seal (available as a spare part for the respective carburetors) .

If the carburetor has a set screw with a special head, a special MITSUBISHI wrench is required.
