Checking the electrical heating of the inlet pipe

To improve performance during the engine warm-up phase, an electric heating element is installed between the intake manifold and the carburetor. It heats up instantly and gives off its heat to the air-fuel mixture.

Examination

Break the electrical circuit, see fig. K-2016.



Using 2 jumpers, connect the battery voltage to the heater element and check if it warms up.

Caution: The heater element can be very hot.

Reconnect the connector.
