Tire cleaning
Do not clean tires with compressed steam. A jet of hot steam close to the tire will render the tire unrepairable in a few seconds, even if cold water is applied immediately. For safety reasons, it is recommended that a tire cleaned in this way be replaced.
After a tire has been in contact with oil or grease for a long time, it must be replaced. The tire in the appropriate place first bulges, and then returns to its original shape, having an intact appearance at first glance. But the load capacity of the tire is drastically reduced due to the effect of fats.
Tire storage
Tires should be stored loose in a cool, dark, dry and, if possible, draught-free room and not come into contact with lubricants.
Store tires in a garage or basement lying down or hanging if they are mounted on rims.
Before removing the wheel, slightly increase the pressure in the tire (0.3-0.5 bar).
For winter tires, use your own rims, as remounting tires does not save costs.
Tire break-in
Once manufactured, new tires have a particularly smooth surface. Therefore, it is necessary to break in the tires - this also applies to the spare wheel. The initial break-in wear makes the tire rougher.
During the first 300 km, you should drive very carefully, especially on wet surfaces.
