/70 = Height to width ratio (the height is 70% of the width).
If this relationship is not specified (e.g. 155 R 13), then we are talking about "normal" ratio of height to width. It is 82% for tubeless tires.
H = Speed class, H: up to 210 km/h (not always indicated on new tire models).
R = Radial tyre.
14 = Rim diameter in inches.
89 = Load rating.
Attention: If the designation M + S is between symbols 14 and 89, this is a tire with a winter profile.
H = Symbol for permissible maximum speed.
The speed symbol comes after the tire size. They are valid for both summer and winter tires.

The date of manufacture of the tire is in the tire manufacturer's code.
Example: DOT CUL2 UM8 412 < TUBELESS DOT = Department of Transportation (US Department of Transportation)

- 412 = date of manufacture = 41st manufacturing week 1992.
- < = Symbol for the current decade (1990-1999)
