Release cars from 1.84 to 8.88
Removing
Loosen the wheel nuts with the vehicle on the ground.
Mark with paint the position of the rim relative to the hub. Due to this, the balanced wheel is installed in its original place during installation.
Raise the back of the car see par. 29.
Remove wheel.
Slightly support the trailing arm with a jack, placing a wooden gasket.
Remove the lower shock absorber mounting bolt.
Slowly lower the jack, thereby decompressing the spring, and then pull out the helical spring.
Remove the upper shock absorber mount.
Installation
Check shock absorber see point 14.4.
Check the integrity of the outer surface of the spring.
Insert shock absorber from below and secure from above with 80 Nm.
Insert the helical spring so that its cone and markings point upwards. When installing a new spring, be sure to install a spring with a marking that matches the marking of the old spring. In addition, it is recommended to replace the spring gasket at the same time.
Slowly raise the trailing arm with a jack until the spring is fully seated. At the same time, make sure that the ends of the coils of the spring go into the guides of the spring gaskets.
Fasten the shock absorber from below with a force of 80 Nm.
Put the wheel on, while observing the markings made. Lower the vehicle and tighten the cross wheel nuts. For tightening torque, see section 19.4
Tighten the lower mounting nut.
Attention: The car must be on the ground.
