Removing
Remove the drum brake pads.
Unscrew valve -9- to bleed air.
Loosen union nut -10- of brake pipe at rear of brake cylinder.
Attention: brake fluid will leak out, substitute a vessel intended only for brake fluid. Observe the rules for handling brake fluid, see 18.10.
Unscrew the 2 brake cylinder mounting screws from the back of the brake shield.
Remove the working brake cylinder.
Plug the brake hose with a suitable plug to prevent excessive loss of brake fluid and dirt from entering the brake system.
Installation
Cover the contact surface of the working cylinder with the brake shield with a layer of sealant, for example MITSUBISHI-3M-8634.
Place the working brake cylinder on the brake plate and fasten lightly with a force of 10 Nm with 2 screws.
Remove the plug and tighten the union nut of the brake pipe to 15 Nm.
Tighten the bleed screw to 10 Nm.
Install brake pads.
Remove air from the brake system. In this case, it is usually sufficient to remove air from the working brake cylinder where the brake pipe was turned away. If the brake pedal remains soft, bleed the entire system.
Press the brake pedal hard several times. This is where the brake pads are installed.
