Note: In some variants, only the front section of the console is fitted.
Removing
Disconnect the earth cable from the battery.
Attention: This erases data in the electronic memory, such as the engine fault memory or the radio code. Disconnect the battery only when the ignition is switched off, otherwise the control unit for the fuel injection device may fail. Before disconnecting the battery, read the instructions in sections "Radio" And "Removing and installing the battery".
If present, pull out the switch for the electrically adjustable outside mirror and the trim on the rear of the console.
Pull out the ECON switch in the same way (or in the same place a compartment for coins), see -1- in Figure K-4864.
Pull up console drawer -2-.
Unscrew the 4 screws securing the rear part of the console -4-.
Unscrew the gear selector knob -5-.
If fitted, pull the seat heating switch panel -6- out of the console and unplug the cable connector at the rear.
Remove relay -7- for seat heating from console.
Remove the screws on the left, right and rear sides and pull out the console
Installation
Installation is in the reverse order.
Connect ground cable to battery.
If available, set the time on the clock and enter the security code into the radio.
