Removing
Disconnect the earth cable from the battery.
Attention: This erases data in the electronic memory, such as the engine fault memory or the radio code. Disconnect the battery only when the ignition is off, otherwise the control unit of the fuel injection device may fail. Before disconnecting the battery, read the instructions in sections "Radio" And "Removing and installing the battery".
Remove the dashboard see point 25.1.
Remove the speedometer flexible shaft from the gearbox.
Remove the speedometer flex shaft adapter. To do this, slightly pull the speedometer roller inside the passenger compartment, then turn the adapter to the left or right to release it from the retainer. Remove adapter.
Disconnect the dashboard cable connector by pressing the connector bar with a narrow screwdriver. Pull out the connector at the same time.
Remove sill trims -1- on both doors.
Remove the side pads under the dashboard by hooking up the clip.
Pull out the ashtray.
Loosen the screws and remove the middle trim.
Take off the radio see point 25.5.
Pull the sunglass case -3- back out of the frame.
Unscrew screws and remove bottom trim -4- for dashboard. Remove engine compartment hood release handle -5-.
Remove 2 screws and remove steering column trim.
Remove right trim -8-.
Disconnect fastener -1- "glove box" and remove the cover. If necessary, remove trim -5- and concealed drawer -6-.
Pull forward and remove lower trims -9-.
Loosen the screws securing the heater control panel.
Unhook and remove side warm air vent grilles -15- and clock or plug -16-, these parts are simply inserted without fastening.
Note: If the entire instrument panel is to be removed, the control shaft must first be unscrewed from the upper holder. Removing the bolts requires a MITSUBISHI special tool.
If necessary, disassemble the dashboard.
Installation
Install the removed parts of the dashboard in reverse order.
Connect ground cable to battery.
If available, set the time on the clock and enter the security code into the radio.
