Unlike the system described in the previous section, the Super select system is supplemented by a center differential and a viscous coupling installed in the transfer case housing.
Thus, the following four operating modes of the Super select all-wheel drive transmission are realized:
- 2WD mode;
- always on 4WD mode;
- direct engagement of 4WD overdrive;
- direct downshift 4WD.
