Installing the Shift Synchronizer Hub (H-L)
When installing the hub, pay attention to its installation position (see fig. M2 4.081).
Installing retaining rings
Before installing the retaining rings, make sure that the axial clearance of the part fixed by the retaining ring is within 0-0.08 mm.
Makeup installation» chain drive
Before installing, apply a bead of sealant with a diameter of 2 mm to the connector surface.
Installing the movable clutch ring
When installing, observe the correct position of the movable ring (see fig. M2 4.084).
Installing the shift rod
Install the transfer box as shown in fig. M2 4.085.
Slide the front drive engagement rod in the direction indicated by the arrow until it stops.
Make sure the locking movable pin is fully recessed into the transverse hole and does not obstruct the installation of the shift rod.
The connection of the stem with the shift fork is made using a split spring pin (see fig. M2 4.086).
Installing the shim
Measure protrusion (A) output shaft bearing from housing and depth (IN) annular groove on the back of the case.
Choose a gasket so thick that the gap when installing the back of the case has the following values:
- for manual transmission type V5MB1-J-NEG: 0-0.1 mm;
- for manual transmission type V5MB1-J-NE: 0.025-0.150 mm.
Installing the oil slinger
Installation of an intermediate shaft
Installing the countershaft may be hindered by the teeth of the input shaft gear clutch. In order to be able to install the intermediate shaft on the ring gear of the drive gear, two flats are made, which during assembly should be located as shown in Fig. M2 4.091.
When installing the front cover of the transfer case, the sealant is applied as shown in fig. M2 4.092.
Installing the speedometer drive
When installing the speedometer drive, the mark on the transfer case housing is aligned with the mark corresponding to the number of teeth on the speedometer drive gear (see fig. M2 4.093).
Spring installation
Springs are installed tapered end first (see fig. M2 4.094).
Installing screw plugs
When installing a previously used plug, a layer of sealant should be applied to its threads. The sealant is already applied on the new plug.
