Transfer case operation in 2WD mode (control lever position «2H»)
When the mode is turned on «2H» the movable spline of the 2WD/4WD shift clutch is in the position shown in fig. M2 4.013.
Transfer case operation in 4WD mode (control lever position «4H»)
When the mode is turned on «4H» the movable splined ring of the clutch of the 2WD, 4WD shift mechanism is in the position shown in fig. M2 4.014.
In this case, the front spline ring of the clutch movable ring does not engage with the splines of the center differential lock clutch, which can redistribute torque between the axles depending on road conditions. At the same time, the viscous coupling limits the difference in the angular speeds of the drive of the front and rear wheels to prevent slipping and the occurrence of unwanted torque fluctuations in the transmission.
Transfer case operation in 4WD mode (control lever position «4HLc» or «4LLc»)
When the mode is turned on «4HLc» or «4LLc» the movable spline of the 2WD/4WD shift clutch is in the position shown in fig. M2 4.015.
In this case, the front spline ring of the clutch movable ring engages with the splines of the center differential lock clutch, blocking it. At the same time, during off-road driving, the torque of each of the wheels does not depend on the condition of the surface. Its distribution is fixed.
Transmission control indicator light control unit
This block receives signals (as ON/OFF) limit switches installed on the transfer case and on the front axle, which determine the position of the transmission elements, and control the control light indicator of the transmission status.
