Removal and installation of a pulley of the right balancing shaft
Remove the plug from the right side of the cylinder block, insert into the hole (A) Phillips screwdriver with a diameter of 8 mm to fix the shaft, unscrew the fastening nut and remove the gear.
Install the gear in the reverse order of removal, tightening the nut to a torque of 36±3 Nm.
Removal and installation of a pulley of the left balancing shaft
Unscrew and remove the left cover from the cylinder block.
When replacing the cover (when assembling the engine) apply MITSUBISHI #MD970389 sealant to it (roller diameter 2.3±1 mm), and on the screw threads - the fixing composition ZM ATD No. 8660.
Insert a screwdriver or wrench into the hole (b) suitable diameter for fixing the shaft and loosen the pinion fixing screw.
Install the gear in the reverse order of removal, tightening the fastening screw to a torque of 36±3 Nm.
Removal and installation of a belt pulley «IN» crankshaft
The pulley is removed from the shaft using a puller (1).
Installing pulleys on the crankshaft
When installing the pulleys on the shaft, clean and degrease the mounting elements, as shown in Figure M2 2.041.
Install the flange on the shaft, matching the alignment marks on the front bottom cover and the flange (see fig. M2 2.042).
