Make sure the electrolyte level is between the maximum (UPPER LEVEL) and minimum (LOWER LEVEL) level. Top up with distilled water if necessary.
Using a hydrometer and thermometer, control the density and temperature of the electrolyte.
Nominal density value - 1.220-1.290 (at 20°C).
Note: The density of the electrolyte depends on the temperature. therefore, to convert the measured density value to a temperature other than 20°C, the following formula must be used:
D20 = (t - 20) x 0.0007 + Dt D20, where
D20 - density reduced to 20°C;
Dt is the density actually measured;
t is the actual measured temperature.
Note: when carrying out work, observe the necessary safety measures. Do not disconnect the battery terminals while the engine is running. When disconnecting the battery, turn off all consumers of energy and turn the key in the ignition switch to the position «ACC» or «LOCK».
Disconnect the terminal first «-».
