Checking and adjusting the tension of the auxiliary drive belts

Inspect the belts and make sure there are no mechanical damages (cracks, breaks, cord delamination, etc.) and excessive wear. If the V-belt slips on the pulleys with a characteristic sound (screech), check the tension, inspect the contact surfaces of the pulleys and belt. If necessary, degrease the contact surfaces or replace the belt.

Belt tension can be checked in various ways:

3 Using special instruments, by measuring the frequency (using a measuring microphone) or effort (using load cell) (used in service stations).

2. Manually, by measuring the deflection of the belt when pressed at a certain point of the working branch due to force.
