2. Perform all work with the battery disconnected (when doing this, first of all, disconnect the wire terminal «masses» battery). When carrying out welding work on the battery, both terminals must be removed.
3. When disassembling units and assemblies, place the removed elements in the appropriate order to facilitate subsequent assembly.
4. Parts subject to mandatory replacement with new ones are marked in the figures with the letter «N».
These parts include: glands, gaskets and washers, cotter pins, lock washers, self-locking nuts, etc.
5. When assembling components and assemblies, follow the recommendations for applying the appropriate lubricant or sealant to the parts. Tighten the fasteners in the order shown in the figure, strictly adhering to the recommended tightening torques and angles.
6. When replacing a blown fuse, it must be replaced with a fuse of the same rating (having previously established and eliminated the reason why this fuse has blown). It is forbidden to install homemade fuses to replace the burnt ones («bugs») or a larger fuse.
Locations for jacking, chocks, or hoist supports to raise the vehicle for repairs or maintenance
Note. Immediately after jacking up, the vehicle must be placed on stands. It is dangerous to carry out any work on a car installed only on a jack. If only the front or rear of the vehicle is to be jacked up, chocks must be placed under the appropriate wheels to prevent the vehicle from moving. To prevent damage to the paintwork and the subsequent formation of corrosive processes, place a piece of rags and a piece of wood in the places where the jack and support stands are installed.
It is forbidden to install the jack or supports at points other than those shown in the figure.
When carrying out work on a vehicle mounted on a lift (Removing the spare wheel, rear suspension or bumper), place additional weight on the body or take steps to secure the vehicle to the legs of the lift.
