Removing
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
If the stereo system installed in the car is equipped with a security code, before disconnecting the battery, make sure that you have the correct combination to activate the audio system!
2. Empty the cooling system (see chapter Settings and ongoing maintenance).
3. Remove all components restricting access to the thermostat.
4. Turn out fixing bolts and remove a thermostat casing from the engine.
5. Remove the thermostat from the housing - try to remember the correct installation position of the assembly. The thermostat sealing ring must be replaced without fail!
Installation
1. Fill the thermostat into the casing, - follow the tight fit of the flange in the groove selected in the body of the inlet pipeline or casing. Get the bleed valve aligned correctly with the mark on the thermostat housing.
2. After replacing the sealing ring, install the thermostat housing in its regular place and tighten the bolts of its fastening with the required force (see Specifications).
3. Fill the cooling system with the required amount of mixture of the required grade (see chapter Settings and ongoing maintenance).
4. Install the components that were removed for access.
5. Connect the negative cable to the battery. Start the engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature (thermostat should open) and add a little more coolant to the radiator, bringing its level to the lower cut of the neck.
6. After the engine has cooled down, check the coolant level again, if necessary, make the appropriate adjustments.
