Warning! The car models covered in this manual are equipped with an additional security system (SRS). Before doing any work near the airbag unit, steering column or instrument panel, turn off the SRS to avoid injury if it is accidentally deployed (see Section Additional security system (SRS) - general information and precautions). SRS circuit wiring is easily identified by the yellow color of the insulation.
If the stereo system installed in the car is equipped with a security code, before disconnecting the battery, make sure that you have the correct combination to activate the audio system!
Examination
1. The turn signal/alarm breaker is located in the passenger compartment fuse box on the left under the vehicle's instrument panel.
2. The correct functioning of the interrupter is confirmed by a distinctly audible rhythmic click. If one of the indicators fails, the frequency of the interrupter doubles, informing the driver to replace the failed lamp / lamps.
3. Simultaneous failure of both indicators with a high degree of probability indicates the failure of the corresponding fuse in the internal mounting block. The possibility of failure of the breaker itself, or the steering column switch, is also not ruled out. Check up a condition of contact connections of electroconducting of a corresponding circuit. If a fuse is knocked out, check the wiring for signs of a short circuit - refer to the wiring diagrams (see Section Wiring diagrams).
Replacement
1. Make sure that the replacement breaker is of the same size as the failed one.
2. The breaker is replaced by removing it from its seat in the mounting block.
3. When installing a replacement breaker, make sure that the guide tabs are correctly aligned.
