1. The support is built into the body of the upper suspension arm and, in case of wear, is replaced as an assembly with the latter (see Section Removal and installation of the upper arms of the front suspension (Galant models 1994 - 1998 issue)).
2. Pull the ball stud of the support, then screw the nut onto it and, using a special tool, (MV9s26) measure the turning force of the assembly.
3. If the measurement is more than 2.5 Nm, the upper suspension arm assembly must be replaced.
4. Low reading (less than 0.3 N·m) freedom of rotation of the support. If the finger rotates smoothly without excessive play in its fit, the support is good and should be used again.
5. Evaluate the condition of the protective cover of the support, - in case of damage, replace the assembly of the upper arm.
