Warning! Remember that the dust produced during the operation of the brake mechanisms may contain asbestos, which is extremely harmful to human health. Never blow off dust with compressed air or inhale it - wear a protective mask or respirator when servicing mechanisms. Never use gasoline or petroleum-based solvents to clean brake system components - use only branded cleaners or methyl alcohol!
1. Disc brake pads are equipped with wear indicators that begin to emit a high frequency sound (screech) when erasing friction linings below 2 mm thickness.
2. Assessment of the condition of the brake pads can be made by visual inspection through a special window provided in the caliper body. The standard thickness of the overlays is 10 mm, the minimum allowable thickness is 2.0 mm.
3. Replacement of worn brake pads must be carried out simultaneously on both brake mechanisms of one vehicle axle.
4. If there is uneven wear of the pads, you should check the freedom of movement of the piston in the corresponding caliper cylinder.
