Servicing car hinges and locks

Every 5000 km (3000 miles) mileage, or once every three months, the hinges and assemblies of the lock latches of the doors, hood and luggage compartment lid should be lubricated with a few drops of liquid oil, or with a special grease for locks. The strikers of the locks are subject to lubrication with grease in order to reduce their wear rate and guarantee the failure-free actuation. To lubricate the lock assemblies, it is best to use a special graphite grease supplied in aerosol cans.
