Exhaust gas recirculation valve test

1. Remove the valve of the EGR system and check its capacity, absence of carbon deposits, etc. If necessary, clean the valve with a suitable solvent to ensure that the valve seat is tight.

2. Attach a vacuum pump to the valve (pic. 6.15).



3. Create a vacuum of 67 kPa and check for leaks.

4. Apply air from the exhaust gas recirculation channel and check the following condition of the system:

Vacuum	Air permeability
5.3 kPa or below	No air leakage
27 kPa or higher	Air leak

5. When installing the valve of the recirculation system, install a new gasket and tighten it to a torque of 22 Nm.
