Check of the traction relay of a starter

1. Disconnect the excitation coil contacts from the M terminal of the traction relay.

2. Connect the battery between the S terminal and the car body (pic. 7.17).



3. Extend the drive gear by hand to the stop ring.

4. If the gear remains in place, everything is in order. If it does not stop, the holding winding circuit is broken. Replace the traction relay.
