2. Connect a 100 A ammeter and carbon plate rheostat between the positive pole of the battery and the starter terminal (pic. 7.18).

3. Connect a voltmeter through the starter.
4. Turn the rheostat carbon plates to the position of maximum resistance.
5. Attach the cable from the negative pole of the battery to the starter housing.
6. Adjust the rheostat so that the mark on the voltmeter shows 11 V.
7. Make sure that the maximum value on the ammeter does not deviate from the norm and the starter rotates evenly and freely. The current strength should be 90 A.
