High pressure fuel pump — removal and installation

Removing

Remove the engine cover.

Relieve fuel pressure.

Remove the air filter, throttle body and intake manifold.

After loosening the clamps, disconnect the fuel return hoses.

Remove the fuel pipe.

Take off the rings (8) (here and below see fig. MCC07.011).

Remove O-rings (7).

Take off the rings (6).

Loosen the bolts, remove the high pressure fuel pump (1).

Remove the O-ring (4) and gasket (3).

Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order, taking into account the following:

Apply some engine oil to the injection pump pushrod roller and O-ring.



Install the high pressure fuel pump in the cylinder head at a right angle, tighten the mounting bolts by hand.


Set the ring (2) and ring seal (3), as shown in the figure below.

ATTENTION: At the ring (2) beveled surface (4) should be located from the reverse side of the O-ring.

Make sure rings are installed correctly (1) (the outer diameter of this end is 14.8 mm). Do not confuse it with the fuel pressure sensor ring.



Coat the o-ring with engine oil (3).

CAUTION: Do not allow engine oil to enter the high pressure fuel pump housing or the fuel manifold.

Install the fuel pipe in the high pressure fuel pump and in the holes of the fuel manifolds at a right angle.



Tighten the high pressure fuel pump mounting bolts in the sequence shown in the figure in two steps.

Install the fuel return hoses so that the marks (1) And (2) they were oriented as shown in the figure.




Air is bled from the high pressure fuel line with the engine running at 2000 rpm for 15 seconds or more.

When a diagnostic code appears on the tester display, due to its registration by the fuel pressure sensor, it must be erased after normal fuel pressure in the system is restored.

After installing the engine protective cover, check the fuel system for leaks.

Install the air filter, throttle body and intake manifold.
