Crankshaft — repair features

The crankshaft is five-bearing, the sealing of the necks is provided by two seals, one of which is installed in the cylinder block on the flywheel side, and the other in the housing, which is mounted on the front cover of the engine. Main bearings are installed in the bed of the cylinder block and removable covers that are fastened with two bolts. Axial play of the crankshaft is provided structurally with the help of a medium main bearing with a flanged part. The procedure for checking the condition of the crankshaft, including checking clearances in bearings and axial play, as well as installation on the engine, is no different from that discussed above for gasoline engines.
