Removing
Install the car on a lift or overpass, or use a viewing hole.
Drain the coolant into a special container.
Remove the front toothed belt cover.
Remove the alternator drive belt, as well as the power steering and A/C compressor drive belts.
Remove the crankshaft pulley by first unscrewing the mounting bolt.
Set the gear lever to neutral position.
By turning the crankshaft clockwise, achieve a position in which the alignment marks of the toothed belt match (see related section).
Donkey) After the nut of the tension roller axle, remove the camshaft/s timing belt.
Holding the gear wheel from turning and unscrewing the mounting bolt, remove the gear wheel / a camshaft (if necessary).
«Unload» jack up the engine and remove the front engine mounting brackets.
While releasing the jack, lower the engine as low as possible.
Turn away bolts of fastening of a back cover of a gear belt.
After unscrewing the mounting bolts, remove the brackets for the generator and power steering (if necessary).
After unscrewing the mounting bolts, remove the coolant pump from the cylinder block.
Examination
Clean all parts and check carefully for damage or wear. If necessary, replace pump parts or the entire pump with a new one.
Check the end play of the coolant pump impeller/bearing. The play must not exceed 0.15 mm.
If the backlash exceeds the allowable value, replace the pump with a new one.
Installation
Place a gasket on the pump housing or (if provided) cover with a thin layer of sealant.
Install the water pump to the engine block in the reverse order of removal.
