Checking the tightness of the cooling system

Check up absence of porosity of hoses of system of cooling. Replace hardened hoses.

Check the reliability of the fastening of the hoses on the fittings, as well as the reliability of the fastening of the clamps. If necessary, install clamps with screw clamps instead of the old tie-down straps.

If the leak cannot be located, check the cooling system with a hot engine. Leakage is possible around the water pump.

High consumption of coolant or oil in the engine, as well as white smoke exhaust, may indicate a defective cylinder head gasket.

In extreme cases, it is recommended to test the cooling system under pressure to identify leaks.
