Filling with electrolyte, checking and charging the battery

If the battery is in a fully charged state, and one of the cans has a density value that is 0.025 g/cm³ higher or lower than the values in other banks, and it is possible to check the voltage on each bank with a voltmeter to determine the short circuit (checking for 4-7 seconds should give a voltage value of 1.2 to 1.8 V), it is possible that the electrolyte «gone» from a low voltage jar or the battery is nearing the end of its life.

Charging the battery

In winter, when the battery is subjected to heavy loads, such as starting the engine in cold weather, and many electrical consumers are constantly running, it is recommended to recharge the battery from an external source from time to time with a current of 3.5 to 4.0 A. Charging time should be such that within 4 hours there was no increase in the value of the density of the electrolyte.

Another method would be to charge with 1.5A overnight.
