Check of tightness of system of a steering

If there is no liquid in the compensation tank, the steering system must be checked for leaks.

Start the engine, leaving it to idle.

Build up maximum pressure in the steering system. To do this, turn the steering wheel in both directions until it stops, briefly holding it in the extreme positions.

In these positions, check: piston valves; gear rack gaskets, for which move the cuff of the vane pump; connection points for tubes and hoses.
