Examination
Measure your height (A) brake pedals. Required value A: 163-167 mm.
Adjustment
Disengage the brake light switch by releasing the locknut, unscrew the brake light switch until it no longer touches the brake pedal.
Slightly unscrew the traction lock nut and turn it so that the brake pedal is at the required height.
Adjust pedal free play.
Screw in the brake light switch so that it lightly touches the brake pedal, then back it out 1/2-1 turn and tighten the lock nut. Required value: B=0.5-1.0 mm (see fig. XA20.023).
Connect the brake light switch.
Press the brake pedal and watch the stoplight. It should light up when you lightly press the brake pedal.
Press the brake pedal several times with the engine off, creating a vacuum in the hydraulic booster. Depress the brake pedal with your hand until you feel resistance. Required value C=3-8 mm.
Start the engine leaving it to idle.
Depress the brake pedal with a force of approximately 500 N and measure the distance between the brake pedal and the vehicle floor. The required D value is at least 80 mm.
If the D dimension is less than the required value, check the brake fluid level in the reservoir bleed the air from the brake system.
