General description
1. High temperatures in the engine compartment can degrade rubber and plastic hoses. Therefore, it is necessary to periodically check the hoses for cracks, signs of wear, leakage, hardening of the material and the tightness of the clamps.
Vacuum hoses
2. Usually all vacuum hoses have a unique color or are marked with colored stripes. When replacing hoses, always make sure that the new hoses are made from the same material as the old hoses.
3. To check the hose, it is recommended to completely remove it from the vehicle. When checking the hoses, be sure to check the T-connections.
Fuel hoses
Attention: On models with electronic fuel injection, be sure to release pressure from the fuel system before disconnecting the fuel hoses.
4. Check all rubber fuel hoses and tubes for signs of wear, cracks or damage. When replacing fuel hoses, use only hoses specifically designed for this purpose.
Turbocharger hoses
5. On models with a turbocharger, periodically check the air supply hose and oil hoses for leaks or cracks.
Metal tubes
6. Check that the tubes are not bent, cracked or broken. When replacing tubes, use only one-piece tubes that do not have a seam.
