Harmful substances
Industrial emissions, road tar, bird droppings, tree tar, insect debris, sea water, and other things can damage your car's finish and paintwork. In general, the longer harmful substances or objects are left to polish a car, the more damage they can cause. Wash the car as soon as possible if foreign objects stick to it or harmful substances get on its surface. Washing your car frequently and thoroughly is very important to protect your car's polish. If desired, a protective wax layer can be applied to the car body immediately after the surface has been washed.
Car wash
Chemicals found in dust and dirt on a car body can damage the car's paintwork and cause metal corrosion if left in contact with the body surface for a long time.
The best way to protect your car from this kind of damage is to wash it frequently and apply protective agents to the surface of the body.
It will also protect the car from rain, snow, salt, etc.
Do not wash your car in direct sunlight. Park the car in the shade and spray it with water to remove dust. Then, using plenty of water and a washcloth, wash the entire car.
Use a mild soap designed for car washing if necessary. Rinse off all detergent thoroughly and dry the vehicle with a chamois or other soft cloth. After the car has been washed, thoroughly clean all joints and edges of doors, sills, etc., as dirt may still remain there.
Precautionary measures
1. When washing the underside of the car, wear rubber gloves to protect your hands.
2. Try not to use automatic washes with rotating brushes. In this type of washer, the surface of the car body can be scratched. Scratches are especially noticeable on vehicles with dark paintwork.
3. In some automatic car washes, the car is washed with hot water under pressure
This can damage the rubber elements of the car as a result of exposure to too high a temperature, and also water can get inside the passenger compartment. When using this type of washer, make sure that there is at least 40 centimeters between the end of the hose and the vehicle.
In the cold season
Salt and other chemicals that are scattered on the roads in winter can have a detrimental effect on the underbody. Therefore, it is recommended to wash the underside of the vehicle with pressurized water every time the vehicle is washed. Particular care must be taken to remove dirt and other deposits that can trap salt and moisture.
